Jos: President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Yakubu Jang, son of former Plateau State Governor Jonah Jang, as Senior Special Assistant in the Office of the President.
The appointment was announced on Saturday by Vice President Kashim Shettima while representing President Tinubu at the 80th birthday celebration and autobiography launch of Chief Jonah Jang in Jos, Plateau State.
“On behalf of Mr President, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Yakubu Jang as Senior Special Assistant in the Office of the President”, Shettima said.
The appointment appointment was announced at a high-profile event held in Jos, which was attended by Vice President Shettima, former President Goodluck Jonathan, Vice President Kashim Shettima.
Those present also includes Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang, Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas the Deputy Governor of Plateau State, Mrs Josephine Piyo and other senior federal and state government officials.
Accompanying the Vice President were the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase, former Minister of Women Affairs, Dame Pauline Talken, and Senator Napoleon Bali.
According to Shettima, the appointment reflects President Tinubu’s recognition of Yakubu Jang’s capacity, loyalty, and the administration’s commitment to inclusive governance by accommodating diverse voices in public service.
