The spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Felix Morka, has described former President Muhammadu Buhari as a “stopgap president” who, according to him, inherited a country weakened by 16 years of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) administration.
Morka made the disclosure while assessing the performance of the APC-led Federal Government and comparing the administrations of Buhari and President Bola Tinubu on TV.
He said Buhari’s administration was primarily needed to prevent Nigeria from sliding further into what he described as the consequences of prolonged PDP misrule and mismanagement.
“Buhari was a stopgap president who came to keep the country from tipping over the precipice of 16 years of horrific maladministration of the PDP government,” Morka said.
The APC spokesman also praised Tinubu’s administration, claiming that the President had surpassed the performance of every democratically elected Nigerian president within the first term in office.
“President Bola Tinubu has outperformed any democratically elected president in this country in his first term,” he said.
Morka further argued that Tinubu inherited a severely bastardized economy, describing the situation as the product of repeated structural and policy failures.
“This president inherited an economy that was completely in a mess from generational concession,” he added.
