“Peace is coming back to this country. Development is coming back to this country. Things will get better as we progress in this democracy” -President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured Nigerians that the country is on the right path, saying the sacrifices made by made by citizens will soon yield better results.
Tinubu gave the assurance through the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, who represented him at a Special Prayer Session at the National Mosque in Abuja as part of activities marking Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary.
The President acknowledged the challenges Nigeria has faced over the years but said the country had made significant progress and was gradually moving towards peace and development.
“My message to the country on behalf of Mr President, the Senate President and all members of the National Assembly is that the citizens should not lose hope”, Abbas quoted Tinubu as saying:
“Peace is coming back to this country. Things will get better as we progress in this democracy”.
Tinubu further maintained that Nigeria was now on the right path, declaring that the country had made the sacrifices necessary to build a stronger nation.
“I want to categorically make it clear that Nigeria is on the right path, that there is light at the end of the tunnel, and that Nigerians have finished making sacrifices for this country to be great again”, he said.
The President also said his administration was working to correct what he described as cumulative mistakes and missed opportunities from previous governments.
He urged Nigerians to remain hopeful and called for continued support for his administration to enable it complete its ongoing programmes and reforms.
