The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the restoration of its Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS), following a temporary disruption, urging tertiary institutions to accelerate admission processes ahead of approved deadlines.
In a statement issued on Monday September 28, 2026, the examination body said CAPS was fully operational and advised candidates to promptly accept admission offers made to them.
JAMB thereby urge institutions to recover lost time and ensure that admissions were completed within the stipulated timelines for the 2026/2027 academic session.
According to the Board, public universities are expected to conclude their admission exercises by October 31, 2026, while private universities have until November 30.
The Board further urged candidates who previously indicated that they were awaiting examination results to upload or verify their credentials following the release of the 2026 National Examination Council (NECO) Senior School Certificate Examination results.
JAMB said the step was necessary “to ensure their credentials are available for consideration as institutions intensity their admission processes”
The Board said “JAMB wishes to inform candidates, institutions and other stakeholders that the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) has fully restored and is now operational, following the temporary disruption”.
It added, “Following the release of the 2026 NECO SSCE results, candidates who previously awaited results are advised to upload and/or verify them promptly to ensure their credentials are available for consideration as institutions intensity their admission processes”.
JAMB expressed regret over the disrupting and thanked candidates, institutions and other stakeholders for their patience and understanding.
