Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has appointed former Commissioner for Lands and Survey, Chief Barrister Enyinna Onuegbu, as Deputy Chief of Staff in charge of Operations.
The appointment, which took effect on 30, September 2026, was communicated to Onuegbu through the office of the Secretary to the Imo State Government, Chief Cosmas Iwu.
Onuegbu succeeds Barrister Sydney Emeka Agbor, who recently resigned from the position to pursue his ambition to represent Oru West Constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly.
Onuegbu served as Uzodimma’s first Commissioner for Lands when the governor assumed office in 2020.
He later served as Commissioner for Power before returning to the Lands and Survey Ministry in 2024.
He had also served as the governor’s Chief Political Adviser and Head of the Political Bureau, giving him significant experience in the administration’s political and policy operations.
Onuegbu previously served as Executive Chairman of Ngor Okpala Local Government Area during the administration of former Governor Ikedi Ohakim.
He was also a pioneer spokesman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State.
Governor Uzodinma, while appointing him, expressed confidence that Onuegbu would bring his experience, commitment and spirit of teamwork to the new assignment.
The governor charged him to discharge his responsibilities in line with the administration’s 3R agenda.
