A stalwart of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, Buba Galadima, has alleged that some members of state Houses of Assembly and the National Assembly are being offered millions of naira to forfeit their tickets and allow All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates to emerge.
Galadima made the allegation on Arise Television on Tuesday.
According to him, each member of a state House of Assembly who agrees to step down for an APC candidate is currently being offered N50 million, while members of the House of Representatives are allegedly being offered N200 million and a car.
“Every member of the House of Assembly who agrees to forfeit his ticket for the APC candidate is currently being given N50 million, and the House of Reps will be given N200 million with a car,” Galadima said.
He further alleged that money was being distributed at a hotel in Asokoro, Abuja, claiming that the Department of State Services (DSS) was providing security at the location.
“A lady at the Carlton Hotel, Asokoro, is currently sharing money, and the DSS is protecting the place,” he alleged.
Galadima also accused President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and APC governors of being afraid of electoral contests and attempting to secure victories without opposition.
“President Tinubu and all his governors are afraid of contest; they want to win unopposed,” he said.
