At least 30 persons were on Monday burnt beyond recognition and many vehicles destroyed in a tanker explosion that occurred in Benue State.
9news Nigeria gathered that the ugly incident happened along Ahumbe-Makurdi road.
An eyewitness who spoke with our correspondent said the petroleum-laden tanker fell and spilled its content on the road.
However, some villagers, who had arrived the scene to scoop the product got more than they bargained for as the tanker went up in flames.
A source said over 30 persons burnt while several others were injured.
