Following the fire that engulfed the main library and some departments of the University of Jos on Saturday night, the authorities have postponed the student examinations scheduled for Monday.
The inferno affected the main library, the Faculty of Social Sciences and some departments in the Faculty of Management Sciences.
In a statement by the Registrar, Monday Danjem, the university said on Sunday evening that “all Students and Members of the University of Jos Community are hereby informed that all 2015/2016 Session First Semester Examinations taking place on Monday, 10th October, 2016 have been postponed.”
“This decision is taken pending an emergency Senate Meeting that has been scheduled for Monday 10th October, 2016 by 10.00 am at the Senate Chambers, Bauchi Road Campus,” the registrar said.
