A woman is on the run and has reportedly been using different numbers to call and plead for forgiveness from her husband after she allegedly bathed him with hot water in Bayelsa State.
Mrs Maureen Miebode had a misunderstanding with her husband, Oyinkro Miebode, leading to him giving her “two warning slaps” on the evening of June 2 … and it seemed all had settled.
However, in the night, she allegedly poured boiling water on him while he was sleeping on a sofa in the sitting room, burning his skin badly.
The couple, who live along INEC Road in Kpansia area of Yenagoa, the state capital, have been reportedly having domestic issues of late.
Attempts to reach the woman have been unfruitful according to The Tribune.
Explaining what went down, Oyinkri said his wife called him from her office on June 2 to meet her somewhere at 8 pm. He was to pick up her phone for security purposes because she would be coming home late that evening.
However, he closed from work about 6 pm and his boss dropped him off at the exact location she had asked him to meet her.
He said while hanging around until it was 8 pm, he suddenly saw his wife walking pass him about 7 pm. So, surprised, he ran to her to notify her of his presence but instead she got angry that he came too early than they agreed.
“I then asked why is she angry that I came early. I also asked her why she didn’t tell me she would be coming early as well.
“That was when she started accusing me of monitoring her. She insulted me till we got home. I thought that we could settle the matter at home but it was hell,” Oyinkro said.
He continued: “So out of anger, I gave her two warning slap and instructed her to go to the bedroom and sleep.
“At that point, a friend called me to come to his place for a private birthday party, and unfortunately, I came back home at about 1 am. So, I was sleeping on the sofa in my living room when suddenly she bathed me with hot water.”
The family of the victim say she’s been pleading for forgiveness.
