The World Health Organization, WHO, regional office for Africa in Brazzaville, Congo, has revealed countries with the highest coronavirus (COVID-19) death cases.
Africa has recorded 15, 685 deaths due to complications arising from COVID-19.
According to the latest figure released by the WHO, the number of COVID-19 cases in Africa has risen to 748,856 in the past 24 hours.
Africa has also recorded more than 409,000 recoveries from COVID-19 infections.
As of Wednesday, South Africa has 5,368 reported deaths, the highest number on the continent, followed by Egypt with 4,352 fatalities and Algeria with 1,100 deaths.
Africa’s most populous country, Nigeria, has recorded 805 reported deaths.
Other countries are Sudan (693 deaths), Cameroon (382 deaths), Morocco (276 deaths), Kenya (250 deaths), DR Congo (195 deaths), Ethiopia (180 deaths), Senegal (174 deaths), Mauritania (155 deaths), Ghana (153 deaths), Zambia (128 deaths), and Mali (122 deaths).
