The African Action Congress (AAC) has asked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to approve the use of the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock, Abuja, for the inauguration of its 2027 Presidential Campaign Council.
The party proposed November 11, 2026, for the event, which is expected to mark a key step in its presidential campaign for activist and politician Omoyele Sowore.
In a letter dated October 21, 2026, the AAC also requested food, drinks and other logistical support for participants attending the inauguration.
The letter was signed by the party’s National Secretary, Oshiokhue Philip Ikpe ioghena.
The AAC said its request was anchored on the principles of multiparty democracy, political inclusiveness, fairness and equal treatment of political parties.
It also cited arrangements reportedly extended to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for a similar political engagement.
According to the party, public institutions should serve all Nigerians and political parties without partisan discrimination.
The AAC’s request raises questions about equal access to public facilities by political parties as preparations intensify for the 2027 general elections.
As of the information contained in the letter, the Presidency had yet to respond to the request.
