AASG LIKEMINDS TIP SALMAN AKOREDE AS THE NEXT DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF AMALGAMATED APC SUPPORT GROUPS.

A group of support group leaders under the auspices of the Amalgamated APC Support Groups [AASG] known as ‘AASG LikeMinds’ has unanimously agreed to vote for Alhaji Salman Akorede as the next Director-General of the AASG in the forthcoming elections of the AASG slated for March 2024.

The group made this known after the stakeholders meeting of the group held on Thursday, the 1st of February to interact with all the aspirants to the office. Out of all the aspirants invited to the meeting, only Alhaji Akorede graced the meeting with his presence where he gave answers to so many questions bordering on his strategies to reposition the AASG for efficient and effective delivery of the mandate of the support groups to our party, the APC in 2027 if elected.

Members of the group, AASG Likeminds, expressed their joy and satisfaction over the level of Akorede’s educational qualifications and his preparedness for the assignment. After a critical and objective assessment and analysis of his credentials which met with the standard of the group, they therefore called on all the eligible National Coordinators of support groups within the AASG family to rally round Akorede and give him the needed support for him to emerge as the next Director-General of AASG.

The AASG Likeminds are a conglomeration of over Five Hundred and Fifty National Coordinators/Directors-General of Support Groups spread across the 36 states of the federation and FCT.
The Organisation came into being as a follow-up to the bastardisation, maltreatment and lack of recognition of support groups before, during and after the 2023 general elections in Nigeria. The Organisation was established immediately after the dissolution of the past Executive Council by our parent body, APC.

The AASG like minds was formed to guide against the possibility of an unqualified and inexperienced person from finding his or her way into such sensitive position of the DG that would be leading well over Two Thousand Support Group leaders.

The AASG Like Minds was created so as to look for a candidate who would be a high ranking professional, and highly educated to paddle the ship of the Amalgamated APC Support Groups to success. Among he other requirements of the Group for the position of the DG of AASG are that the holder should be a proficient and ambient communication expert who can relate, engage and converse with every member of the AASG irrespective of religious, tribal, cultural or educational status.

He must be highly connected with the Presidency and the Party hierarchy in order to ensure harmonious relationship and seamless flow of welfare packages and other remunerative interventions to support groups from time to time. He must be humble, hardworking and transparent, a team player who will not be an autocratic personality.

Alhaji Salman Akorede is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountant (FCA), a Certified Institute of Internal Auditors (CIA), a Certified Information Security Auditors (CISA) and Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGET). He also has a certification in Governance Risk And Compliance AudIting (GRCA) and a Project Management Professional (PMP)

Alhaji Akorede has worked extensively in diverse Public and Private Sector Organisations in the United States of America for over 16yrs, Nigeria and the Middle East, assisting to meet several Governance, Risk Compliance and Audit Related requirements.

Alhaji Akorede is the National Coordinator, Abibat Mogaji Benefits Vanguard 4 BAT worldwide; Lagos State Coordinator of Amalgamated APC Support Groups; and National Director, ICT AASG.

Salman is a Grandson of President’s Mother – Alhaja Abibat Ashabi Mogaji, a connection which gives the AASG the type of leverage desirable for a great experience for its members under the present administration.

The group finally solicited the support of other AASG National Coordinators of support groups to join them on this emancipation voyage of restoration of respect and dignity as support group founders in preparation for the 2027 general elections as they were still open to suggestions, as well as to any other support group leader who may be interested in the position of DG, who has better qualifications, exposure and requisite connections than Alhaji Salman Akorede.
