Abia 2023 : APP Guber Candidate, Chief Mascot Decries Poor State Of Education Sector, Outlines Plans To Revitalize It

As the governorship candidate of the Action Peoples Party (APP) in Abia state, Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu, keeps going around delivering his proposed actionable policies and programs to the people, he has outlined the revitalization of the education sector as one of the priorities of his government if elected into office.

Chief Kalu, who disclosed this yesterday in Aba South L.G.A. in his ongoing ward-round tour, said he finds the lethargic condition of the sector much to his chagrin.

According to the APP governorship candidate, part of the reason he chose an academic as a running mate is because of his unflinching passion for education, which he described as a bridging gap between the poor and the rich.

“The passion I have for education is one of the reasons I chose a Professor as a running mate. But, unfortunately, the sector is now comatose. Education is what brings the son of a rich man and a poor man together to dine at the same table, so my government will take it seriously.”

Speaking further, Chief Kalu also said his administration will re-introduce free compulsory Primary and Secondary School education to encourage less privileged parents to send their wards back to school.

Four ABSIEC wards—Asa ward 2, Umunisii ward 16, Ohazu ward 6, and Imezi ward 5—were the places the APP tour train visited yesterday.

The highlight of yesterday’s tour was the commissioning of a Covert Bridge constructed by Hon. Christopher Igbokwe Okorafor, the APP’s candidate for the Aba North/South Federal Constituency, at Iheorji Avenue by the party’s governorship candidate, Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu, and his running mate, Prof. Osondu Akoma.
