IMO: Few moments ago, the Council of Southern Traditional Rulers paid a royal visit to the Governor of Imo state, His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodinma at the Imo lodge in FCT Abuja Nigeria.
Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State however welcomed the Council of Southern Traditional Rulers in a historic meeting aimed at fostering unity and addressing regional issues as 9News Nigeria reports.
The gathering which held at the Imo State Lodge in Abuja, saw the convergence of prominent monarchs from across the southern states, marking a significant step towards collaborative governance and cultural preservation.
In his address, Governor Uzodinma emphasized the importance of traditional institutions in maintaining societal values and promoting peace.
He acknowledged the critical role of the monarchs in mediating conflicts and supporting development initiatives within their communities.
The traditional rulers, led by the Chairman of the Southern Traditional Rulers Council, His Royal Majesty, Oba Adeyeyebn Enitan Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife, expressed their appreciation for Governor Uzodinma’s inclusive approach and dedication to regional progress.
There was a communal v to strengvmhen the ties between the government and traditional institutions, paving the way for a more united and prosperous southern Nigeria.
In his words, Governor Uzodinma stated , “I firmly believe that Traditional Rulers play a crucial role in maintaining the stability of our nation, and I buttressed this while hosting a delegation from the Council of Southern Traditional Rulers, led by Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi CFR, the Ooni of Ife.
“The visit filled me with excitement as it underscored our shared commitment to fostering greater cohesion between the Government and the Traditional Institution. Our discussions focused on enhancing collaboration to promote stability and development across the nation.
“I encouraged the Monarchs to continue their invaluable contributions, partnership and support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and be assured of Government’s unwavering support because together, we can achieve a more unified and prosperous society, Governor Uzodinma concluded.
