The African Democratic Congress (ADC), Kubwa Ward, Bwari Area Council of the FCT, has concluded a medical outreach in Kubwa and Dakwa communities.

9news Nigeria reports that the outreach was convened by Mr Ayuba Adam, ADC councillorship aspirant for Kubwa Ward, and supported by the campaign organisation of Dr Patrick Ezie, a House of Representatives aspirant.

Speaking at the event, Mr Akpama Michael, ADC Chairman in Kubwa Ward, said the outreach was aimed at promoting unity and improving the health status of residents.

According to him, the initiative reflects the party’s commitment to community development and its resolve to secure victory in the Feb. 21 Area Council elections.

“The aim of this medical outreach is to bring people together, understand their health challenges and also work towards success in the Feb. 21 Area Council election,” Michael said.

He explained that the outreach began in Dakwa community on Feb. 1 and that the Kubwa exercise marked its second phase.

Michael added that the ADC was focused on bringing governance closer to the people, dismissing reports of internal rancour within the party.

He expressed optimism that the party would emerge stronger ahead of the 2027 general elections.

On his part, the councillorship candidate, Adam, pledged to work closely with the party’s chairmanship aspirant, Mr Josiah Koche, if elected.

Adam said he would support infrastructural development efforts and collaborate with the chairman to ensure improved governance and service delivery in the area council.

He urged residents to support the ADC, expressing confidence that the party would deliver positive change if voted into office.

Also speaking, Dr Patrick Ezie, Chief Executive Officer of Silver Cross Hospital and House of Representatives aspirant, said the hospital had consistently provided philanthropic medical services since its establishment.

Ezie noted that many families were unable to access healthcare due to high costs and the non-functionality of some Primary Health Centres.

“There are many people with health challenges in communities who cannot access care. Some health centres are not functional, while others are affected by strikes.

“With this outreach, we are bringing healthcare closer to the people because a healthy citizenry is key to a healthy nation,” he said.

He disclosed that the medical team attended to about 700 residents in Dakwa and 500 in Kubwa, treating various ailments.

According to him, critical cases were referred to nearby functional hospitals.

“We attended to many children with different health issues, including visual impairments, while adults with hypertension and diabetes were screened and given medications.

“We also carried out screenings for HIV, hepatitis B and C, and provided vaccines for eligible adults,” Ezie said.
