The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has unveiled its governorship and deputy governorship candidates for the 2027 general elections in 28 states across Nigeria.
The party announced the candidates in a statement on Friday, describing them as part of its efforts to provide Nigerians with a credible political alternative ahead of the 2027 elections.
Among the notable names on the list are former presidential aide Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, who will contest the Lagos governorship election, former Kaduna State governorship candidate Isa Ashiru, and former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, who is the party’s candidate in Kebbi State.
Other prominent candidates include former Delta governorship candidate Great Ogboru, Senator Ahmad Baba Kaita Kaita in Katsina, Senator Ahmad Baba in Katsina, Senator Haliru Dauda Jika in Bauchi, former House Representatives member Herman Iorwase Hembe in Benue, Zakari Mohamed in Kwara and retired Brigadier General John Sunday Sura in Plateau.
In Nasarawa State, the ADC will be represented by Nuhu Angbazo as its governorship candidate, with Ahmed Yusuf as his running mate.
The party also unveiled its candidates in Adamawa, Akwa Ibom, Borno, Cross River, Ebonyi, Enugu, Gombe, Jigawa, Kano, Niger, Ogun, Oyo, Rivers, Sokoto, Taraba, Yobe and Zamfara states.
In Lagos, Rhodes-Vivour will contest alongside Gbadamosi Babatunde Olalere, while Ashiru will fly the ADC flag in Kaduna with Kantiok Ishaku as his running mate. Ogboru will contest in Delta with Afiari Gloria, while Kaita will be paired with Aminu Yar’adua Ahmed in Katsina.
