The battle for Golden Gloves of 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) become intense between Nigeria’s Stanley Nwabali and Ronwen Williams of South Africa.
Both goalkeepers have kept clean sheets on their last four matches and will face each other in the semifinals on Wednesday.
Nwabali only conceded one goal in the tournament, which was in Super Eagles opening 1-1 draw with Equatorial Guinea
. Williams on the other hand, let in two goals for Bafana Bafana when they lost 2- 0 to Mali in their opening match.
Interestingly, Stanley Nwabali (age 27) popularly called Bobbi Bobo and Ronwen Hayden Williams (32) both goalkeepers play in South Africa Premier Soccer League, with Nwabali representing Chippa United and Williams for Memelodi Sundowns.
As things stands, both goalkeepers have four clean sheets each, which is more than any other goalkeeper in the tournament.
