Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel has come under intense public knocks and criticism to the extent that Witches and wizards in the State came together and drag him to court for building what he calls “International Worship centre”.

The International Worship Center which would cost the State over N10 billion Naira of it’s commonwealth, had its Foundation laid on January 21, 2018 in the Business District in Uyo Capital City by the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye.

The building which is over 70% completed since 2018 has been variously criticized by the masses because according to them it’s not a priority for a State which unemployment has risen to 42.5% according the National Bureau of Statistics.

While others protested by writing various anti International Worship Center articles on pages of Newspapers and on the Social media, some groups of ethics came together and dragged Governor Emmanuel to Court with prayers that the Governor should discontinue the project.

In a phony radio program today, “The Governor Speaks” usually anchored by the Governor, Emmanuel reminded the State that he is still in court with witches and wizards who do not want him to build the International Worship Centre.

“As a state named after God, it is important that we build an altar for God our Father. Are you aware that all the witches and wizards came together and took us to court for building a worship centre? We won them and they have gone on appeal.
Look let me tell you, God has been benevolent to us in Akwa Ibom. The least we can do is to build a temple for Him”.

But all those who criticized Governor Emmanuel on the building of the ecumenical center in Akwa Ibom State are not witches, 9News Nigeria Authoritatively reports:

A Catholic Church Reverend Father at the Archdiocese of Abuja, Rev. Fr. John Chinenye Oluama while preaching during a Newlife program in April 2021 expressed shock that Akwa Ibom State Governor could spend over N10 billion Naira on a mega worship center despite the alarming rates of unemployment in his State. He said:

“I’m hearing that a Governor in the South-South is spending over N10 billion Naira to build an ecumenical center, a place for worship for all Christians, (referring to Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State).
I’m sure in our hearts we would be clapping for him that he is a Christian indeed.
How many industries have he built? Why is he building another house of God in a State where I’m sure he can’t count all the churches therein.
Do you know how many agro-allied industries N10 billions can build for a State where I’m sure there are a thousand of jobless youths? You build a church and the jobless people now come there to pray not knowing that their jobs were supposed to be where they are standing”.
