Air Peace has temporarily suspended all flights to and from Benin Airport following the closure of the airport’s runway.
The suspension comes after an Enugu Air aircraft veered off the runway while landing at Benin Airport on Thursday. The incident has prompted safety concerns and disrupted flight operations, leading airlines to adjust their schedules.
In a statement, Air Peace announced the immediate suspension of its Benin operations, citing the runway closure as the reason for the decision.
The airline apologized to affected passengers for the inconvenience caused and appealed for their understanding while aviation authorities work to clear and restore the runway for safe flight operations.
Air Peace assured customers that flight services to Benin Airport will resume as soon as the runway is declared safe and reopened by the relevant authorities.
