It’s rare for Nigerians to celebrate people of integrity other than those of affluence, wealth and power. Bu here at 9News Nigeria, we stand to institute the proper and right norms that would positively impact long term progress on the Society of Nigeria and Africa as it ought to be.
Hinging on the above, we join the well thinking and well meaning Lagosians and Nigerians home and broad to celebrate Akinwunmi Ambode who has served the public diligently and selflessly even at the expense of his self interest, affluence, wealth and power. He lost his political position as the governor of Lagos state just because he was hell-bent on maintaining his dignity and the sanctity of his personality.
He was a listening and empathic governor as he reasoned in many circumstances, the plights of Lagos residents, and had always responded with corresponding executive force to fix the problems respectively.
He was very innovative, resolute and competitive. Ambode was the governor who sees what is obtainable in developed countries and gathers ideas and resources to replicate such in Lagos state. His idea and fascination with state of the art modern infrastructures has not been seen in any other yet. He was in the move to make Lagos state a ‘developed’ state before his removal.
As much as we have hope in his immediate successor, Lagos state will not be in a haste to forget Governor Ambode for his selfless and sacrificial service to the state.
Therefore, on behalf of everyone at 9News Nigeria (excluding those who for personal reasons do not share the view contained in this encomium), we celebrate a man of the people and epitome of Integrity. We celebrate the former Governor of Lagos state, Akinwumi Ambode on his 57th Birthday.
