Our attention has been drawn to an online publication from the Senator Godswill Akpabio for Common Good, (SGACG) calling on the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and HE,Mai Mala Buni, the acting National Chairman of APC to call Atuekong Don Etiebet,CON to order.
Normally, owing to the name of the group, one wouldn’t spend his or her precious time to join issues with such a halfbaked write-up, but for the benefit of our teeming supporters and the unsuspecting public, we want to bring some facts to the fore.
There’s no good whatsoever that can come from a man who has proven to all and sundry that he speaks from both sides of his mouth. Well, what else should be expected from a man who can’t point anyone to the grave that bears Obot Akpabio let alone a house in the name of his supposed father in Ukana.
Dr Jibril Tafida, it might interest you to know that in the buildup to the 2015 presidential election, Sen. Godswill Obot Akpabio said unprintable things against President Muhammadu Buhari just to ensure PMB is seen as a villain by voters in the state and the country at large. He rained untold terror on members of APC in Akwa Ibom State.
Let me take you a little down into the history lane.
Everybody in Akwa Ibom State knows the contributions of Atuekong Don Etiebet, CON as regards the 1999 and 2007 electoral victories in Akwa Ibom State. Let me narrow it down to HE, Godswill Akpabio, Atuekong Don Etiebet, CON came to his rescue when he was detained at Onikan Police station when a client wrote a petition of financial misappropriation against Akpabio, I’m sure he did not tell you this. It might also interest you to know that HE, Godswill Obot Akpabio was employed as an ordinary Legal Officer in EMIS TELECOMMUNICATIONS LTD. And through the influence of Atuekong Don Etiebet CON, who was the Principal Shareholder of the company, he rose to become the company’s Legal Adviser/Company’s secretary, and finally, he held temporarily, the acting Managing Director. He was in that position before he left to become a Commissioner in Akwa Ibom State. EMIS TELECOMMUNICATIONS LTD operations office was in Etiebet’s place in Ikeja, Lagos were all the equipment was installed. Because of him, Atuekong Etiebet CON waved the payment of rent till the company was on its foot. Through his connivance with others as Acting Managing Director, the company was taken over by the bank which a criminal case including him as a defender is in Court. In 2006, Atuekong Don Etiebet CON was also very instrumental in the emergence of HE,Godswill Akpabio as governor in 2007. Dr. Tafida, ask HE, Godswill Obot Akpabio if he wasn’t instructed by the presidency in 2006 to come and beg for Atuekong Don Etiebet’s endorsement which he went with all his brothers and supporters and prostrated before Atuekong Don Etiebet, CON in Etiebet’s residence in Asokoro, Abuja. HE, Godswill Akpabio made a statement that Atuekong Don Etiebet, CON will be the government and he, Akpabio will be the governor. Atuekong Don Etiebet, CON campaigned for him is the 31 LGA of the state. We can tell you without mincing words that Atuekong Don Etiebet, CON is Sen Godswill Obot Akpabio’s mentor in many ways.
Sen Godswill Akpabio is simply looking for relevance where he knows there can’t be any for him. He came into APC Akwa Ibom State In 2018 without purging himself of extreme selfishness, high-handedness, and the shameless impunity that he is known for. He forgot that APC is progressive minded, hence his show of shame.
Dr. Jibril Tafida, you are calling on the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to call our revered Chief Don Etiebet, CON a man you describe as half-forgotten politician to order? A nobody to be called to order by the highest authority in the country? What a contradiction!
Lest we forget, Dr. Tafida, were you not the one that came to Akwa Ibom and rigged that abracadabra called PDP primaries for Barr Godswill Obot Akpabio to become the PDP gubernatorial candidate in 2007? I’m sure you think we have forgotten. What did you get in return? Just the house that was bought for you in Kaduna state and your PhD program that Akpabio sponsored after too much of your complaint through Rt Hon Okpolupm Etteh.
HE, Sen. Godswill Ebot Akpabio is just rattled by series of events last weekend that saw the All Progressives Congress Stakeholders in Akwa Ibom State flourished against his wish , also the endorsements of Sen John James AkpanUdoedehe for the gubernatorial ticket of the Party, and that of DIG Udom Ekpoudom (Rtd) OON for Akwa Ibom North West ( Ikot Ekpene ) Senatorial District seat, a seat he’s craving for.
You have made yourself a willing tool in the hand of a man that has no regards for due process and believes everything in Akwa Ibom State is supposed to start and end with him,politically and otherwise.
Dr. Tafida, how are we sure you are a member of APC? You were the candidate of PDP in the House of Representatives election in Kaduna South and lost woefully just like HE, Sen Godswill Akpabio, your paymaster lost his Senatorial seat also in 2019.
They say charity begins at home. Have you bothered to ask your sponsor how good he has contributed to the welfare of APC in the state? You should not only be concerned about the crumps you are getting from the NDDC which he has turned into his private property, you should try and reach out and also carry out an investigation to ascertain his actual commitment to the party in the state before coming out to make a mockery of yourself.
Dr. Jibril Tafida, for lack of what to do, you have decided to make good use of your PhD in promoting Sen Godswill Akpabio, a man who deceives you that he is contesting for the Presidency of Nigeria, when actually he is gunning for the Senatorial seat, as he is boosting to becoming the senate President if given the opportunity by his people, which is not available
Dr jibril, we are not completely convinced that you are not a banditry group leader camouflaging like a structure of Godswill Akpabio, it’s very worrisome that Chief Etiebet, CON who lives in Abuja is unsafe with your description of the man being half-forgotten. HE, Godswill Akpabio’s regime was noted for excessive violence wherein you were a mercenary of that regime. You have not told us your legitimate business engagement apart from canvassing for Akpabio, nobody knows your real source of livelihood except fronting for Akpabio. It wouldn’t be out of place if everyone should believe that you are a parasite feeding exclusively from Akpabio and doing his dirty jobs.
We therefore call on Mr. President’s attention to be aware of your capacity to hurt Chief Don Etiebet, CON as directed by your paymaster HE, Godswill Obot Akpabio.
