…I Will Give Grants to Market Women, Male Traders, Artisans, Others to Boost Their Businesses
The Akwa Ibom State candidate of Labour Party in the 2027 governorship election, Akparawa Michael Bush has promised to pay all outstanding pension and gratuities owed to public and civil servants by past administrations within his 100 days in office if elected.
The Labour Party candidate further said after paying all outstanding arrears, retired civil and public servants will be paid their pension, gratuities and other entitlements the same month they retired from service. Bush said said retired staff of government will have their pension increased same as those still in service whenever there’s need to increase workers salaries.
Michael Bush made the promise during a radio program he appeared on Excel Radio 106.9 FM on Monday from 4 PM to 5.30PM
The Labour Party candidate gubernatorial candidate said he is coming to lay to eternal rest the politics played by past administrations on all entitlements of government workers.
“Withholding pension, gratuity, promotion arrears, leave grants will never happen throughout my government” he said.
Answering questions from callers on what he will do for the masses, Bush who said the Slogan of his government shall be: “Akwa For All…
The People First…” said all Market Women, male traders and artisan such as carpenters, glass/aluminum makers, tailors, seamstress and others will be given grants to expand their businesses.
Bush said the grants he is promising market women, artisans and male traders will be given to them to boost their businesses, and those who will manage government funds well, will be given a bigger capital to grow their trades and the grant will be given three times (phase 1, 2, 3) of his four years in government.
On security, Michael Bush said he will be on regular touch with Village Heads, Youth Leaders of all villages of Akwa Ibom State to review the security situation of their immediate communities to ensure the safety of lives and properties is guaranteed.
Bush promised to improve the electricity situation of the sate and build one thousand low cost houses for low income earners in all the 31 Local Government Areas of Akwa Ibom State
