Akwanga, Nasarawa State – Residents of Akwanga have expressed deep concern and frustration over the alarming rate of accidents occuring on the Lafia|Keffi bypass highway.

The community has been plagued by recurring accidents, resulting in numerous fatalities and injuries.

Many victims are still receiving treatment in hospitals, while others have been laid to rest.

“We can’t continue to have recurring accidents on this highways, said a distraught residents.

“We have buried a lot of people already. It’s unbearable to see our loved ones die in such a tragic manner”

The residents are demanding answers, questioning who is responsible for frustrating efforts to install speed bumps on the road. “At the moment, we can’t keep quiet”, another resident emphasized. “Something needs to be done urgently to address this issue”
