Exactly four decades and five years ago, a star was born in the galaxy. Just as most great men such as Charles De Gaulle, Winston Church­ill, Dr. Nnamadi Azikiwe, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Bill Gates, Warren Buf­fett and others, no com­ets were sited when Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah was born in Otolo Nnewi, Anambra State of Nigeria.

We have noticed the systematic and endur­ing impact this colossus has had on our planet.

According to the famous English writer and poet, William Shakespeare, some are born great, some achieve greatness and others have great­ness thrust upon them.

Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah squarely fits into the sec­ond lexicon of this ev­ergreen quote, because, through dint of hard work, perseverance and an incontrovertible fer­vent trust in God, out of nothingness and from a humble beginning, he achieved greatness by building a business em­pire that is far beyond the dreams and comprehen­sion of his contemporaries.

The Philanthropy of Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah which is heavily propelled by the burning desire to give back to the soci­ety led him to establish the Ifeanyi Ubah Foundation.

The Foundation has, over the years, been in the busi­ness of giving free Univer­sity Education to numerous students, installing electric transformers, constructing and repairing roads and providing free fuel to the popular “Okada” riders and bus drivers every Monday in all his filling Stations.

His generosity is bound­less with profound touch of sympathy, empathy and near heavenly bliss. In him is imprinted the true emblem of brotherhood for God and humanity.

Suffice it to say that this big-hearted rare gem of our time, singlehand­edly built a state-of the-art ICT centre for the Nige­rian Defence Academy (NDA) Kaduna, donated money running into mil­lions of naira to the clergy, Churches, schools and other notable institutions in the society. It is also worthy of note to state that he sacrificially took up the responsibilities and feed­ing of thousands of Ni­geria refugees, who fled from Congo Brazzaville.

Time and space may fail me to religiously enumer­ate all the notable achieve­ments and humanitarian works of this giant. All the same, I take solace in the fact that just like a gold­fish; Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, has no hiding place.

May God Almighty continue to bless and fur­ther expose him to the boundless frontiers of un­told achievements, grace, good health and long life for the good of humanity.
