As the tenure of Chief Willie Obiano of Anambra State draws to the end in twelve months time,the battle ground for who takes the seat of the rich revenue state is set and as the case will always be,billionaires from Anambra state have lined up behind party tickets for the Agu Awka home.
Among the billionaires is the CEO of Wichtech Group Dr. Chidozie Nwankwo(Overdose). He declared his interest to run under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) earlier this year.
Dr. Chidozie Nwankwo is now a household name in Anambra state as his philanthropic gestures are felt by indigenes of the State and his billboards mounted in every village in the state.
His campaign has waxed stronger with multiple endorsements from groups and organizations. The most recent endorsement took place at Holy Trinity Cathedral Onitsha where thousands of voters under the umbrella of CHIDOZIE NWANKWO GRASSROOT NETWORK(CGN) gathered to inaugurate the state executive team.
Speaking at the event which took place at Shannahan Hall of the cathedral, the Convener of the movement Comrade Edwin Egwuatu(Nwatanayoeze Na Ayamelum) said the group is formidable and ever ready to deliver. The chairman of the support group Chief Obiajulu Marcel assured the supporters of maximum cooperation with all the wings to get massive support for Dr. Chidozie Nwankwo.
9News Nigeria correspondent reported that the event was colorful and represented all sectors of the state as members from the twenty-one(21) local governments attended.
High point of the event was the inauguration of the State executive, market wing, women wing,youth wing and students wing of the network. The director general of Dr. Chidozie Nwankwo’s campaign Prophet Barr. Ejike Nwachukwu took charge of the inauguration and charged the leadership to remain focused and get to work immediately to ensure smooth campaign. He prayed for the leadership of the group.
Dr. Chidozie Nwankwo was represented by the Secretary of the campaign organization Dr. Chinedu Ofiakor. He assured the supporters that the team is ready to support and continuously support every activities of the network, he encouraged them to remain steadfast and never be intimidated by political moneybags who have nothing to offer to the state but with the sole objective to milk down the state. He challenged them to build the Grassroot network down to polling units and ensure transparency and accountability.
The group presented honorarium to Dr. Chidozie and begged him to get the APC ticket.
