Appreciation message by Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Ubah of Anambra South Senatorial District on the commissioning and unveiling ceremony of newly completed Anambra Progressives Medical Center in Nnewi Anambra state.
To God be the glory, yesterday being September 12, 2020, The Anambra Progressives officially launched and handed over the Anambra Progressives Medical Center, Akammili-Nnewi Anambra State.
In view of the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak in Nigeria which was deeply unsettling for many, the Anambra Progressives arose to the occasion by taking proactive measures to revitalize the State health sector by committing their wealth to address challenges that otherwise are largely unaddressed by the State.
In April 2020, the Anambra Progressives defied all preconceptions to kickoff the construction of three medical centers in Nnewi, Awka and Nsugbe.
Within four months, the collective efforts of the Progressives has birthed two ultramodern Medical Centers in Nnewi and Awka with fully equipped State-of-the-art ambulances. Presently, plans are underway to construct three more Medical Centers across Anambra State with a view to ensure accessibility to qualitative healthcare in the entire State.
This project is a stepping stone to forthcoming greater economic initiatives from the Anambra Progressives which will create industrial clusters and further jobs.
My unreserved gratitude goes to my mentor and Chairman of the occasion; Dr. Cletus Ibeto for his support and guidance, the Honourable Minister of Health, represented by Dr. Obinna Onodugo (Chief Medical Director, UNTH), the Senate President represented by Senator Ibrahim Oloriegbe; Chairman, Senate Committee on Health, the Director General, Nigeria Center for Disease Control(NCDC) represented by Dr. Evaristus Chijioke Aniaku, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital(NAUTH), Chief Ezekeil Afukonyo, Chief Medical Director; Prof. Igwebe, Provost, College of Medicine Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka; Prof. Nneka Agbakoba, H.R.H Igwe K.O.N Orizu; Igwe Nnewi, H.R.H Igwe Emmanuel Nnabuife; Deputy Chairman, Anambra Traditional Rulers Council, Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP John Abang, lthe Bishop of Nnewi Diocese represented by Vicar General, Nnewi Diocese; Monsignor. Patrick Ezeobata and every other traditional ruler, clergy and guests that attended the launching ceremony; your presence was in no little measure a momentous compliment to the event. To every supporter and well wisher that honoured our invitation, the list is too many to mention.
I am extremely pleased to say that the presence of each and everyone one of you bore positive fruits. In view of this, I thank you all for coming together and adding more momentum to the ceremony.
Conclusively, I want to commend Mrs Ngozi Ukachukwu; Chairlady of the Commissioning committee, Chief Innocent Okoli and Chief Powel Ubah as well as other members of the Commissioning Committee.
May God in his infinite mercy continue to reward our efforts with resounding success.
