Aging is often seen as something to fear, but what if it could be more than that? What if it could be an opportunity to grow, thrive, and live life fully? That is exactly what our insightful speakers shared with us. Here are a few key moments that we hope will stay with you.

We all need the right insights for every stage of life, and that’s exactly what this session will bring to you—simple, relatable, and practical tips you can apply right away!

The invited guest at the Pre summit Dr. Olutoyin Akande Ajala, a highly respected geriatrician in Nigeria, reminded us that aging is about much more than a number. Whether you are in your sixties, seventies, or beyond, what truly matters is how you feel and how you care for yourself.

Her advice was clear and actionable:

  • Stay active – Our bodies are designed to move, and regular activity can make a significant difference.
  • Cultivate a positive mindset – The way we see ourselves and the world around us greatly influences our overall health.
  • Reduce sugar intake – Sugar accelerates aging and contributes to health issues like dementia. A simple yet powerful change is to reduce or eliminate sugar in your diet. Try cutting one sugary habit, and watch how your body responds.

Another speaker at the virtual pre summit event Dr Deborah Onojah, a geriatric nutritionist, emphasized the importance of nutrition, no matter your age. What you choose to eat today directly impacts how you feel tomorrow, and it is never too early or too late to start making healthier choices.

She highlighted her personal challenge for the participants at the virtual pre summit event

  • Focus on balanced meals – Add more natural, whole foods to your plate and enjoy the benefits they bring.
  • Replace salt with herbs and spices – It is a flavorful, heart-healthy alternative that supports longevity.
  • Remember, this is all about you. Each small, healthy choice you make brings you closer to a longer, more vibrant life.

The speaker put it up to the participant what Can they Do Right Now?
Taking a moment to reflect: What is one simple, healthy change you can make today? Whether it is going for a walk, reducing sugar, or being more mindful about your meals, every little step counts. You deserve to age gracefully, with energy and joy.

This is just the beginning of our journey together. We are here to support you in unlocking the secrets to healthy aging and are building a community of people like you who are committed to living their best lives at every stage.

The ANHS encourages Nigerians to Stay Connected on socials as they would love to continue this conversation via their social media platforms with inspiration, and updates on the upcoming events.

We will be excited to see how far you will go on your journey to healthy aging.

The organizer appreciate participants for being part of this transformational experience believing Together, we can thrive at any age.
