Still reeling from the killing of over 160 people in Mangu, Barkin-Ladi and Bokkos Local Government Areas of Plateau State, gunmen struck again in Kwahaslalek community in Mangu Local Government Area, killing three persons.

Another two persons were reportedly killed in Durbi village in Shere District of Jos East Local Government Area of the State.

After the Mangu, Barkin-Ladi and Bokkos incidents, there was a threat by terrorists to launch fresh attacks on some commuinities in the State during the New Year celebration, which caused apprehension in the State.

A source who claimed anonimity told 9News Nigeria that the gunmen, on Saturday, at about 10.40pm attacked Kwahaslalek commuinity and unleashed terror on inhabitants.

It was gathered that the attack, which lasted more than 45 minutes resulted in the death of three persons, while five others sustained injuries.

The source further disclosed that three persons who lost their lives were given mass burial at about 10.45am on Sunday, while those who sustained injuries are currently receiving treatment at Mangu General Hospital.

In Durbi, a village in Jos East Local Government Area of Plateau State, a father and his son were shot dead by gunmen who invaded the commuinity.

The Transition Implementation Committee Chairman of the Council Mr Markus Hussaini Nyam who confirmed the incident, said the terrorists invaded the village on Saturday night and killed father and son, adding that the efforts of the Vigilante of the area paid off when they succeeded in killing one of the assailants.

However, Spokesman of the State Police Command, Alfred Alabo, said the incident was an attempts to kidnap one of the residents of the area.
