Former heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua has shared his first message on social media since a devastating car crash in Nigeria that claimed the lives of two of his closest friends and team members.
The accident which occurred on Monday December 29, in the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Sagamu, Ogun State, tragically took the lives of Sina Ghami and Latif “Latz” Ayodele, after the Lexus SUV they were all travelling in ran into a stationary truck.
Joshua, 36, was among those involved but thankfully escaped with minor injuries.
Following the incident, Joshua was hospitalized but was released on New Year’s Eve.

He made his way back to the UK on Saturday, and just days later, he broke the silence with an emotional post across his social media platforms on Sunday.
In the heartfelt message Joshua honored the memories of his fallen friends while expressing his gratitude for the support he’s received in the wake of tragedy.
The post showed an image of Joshua standing alongside the families of Sina and Latz, a quiet but powerful show of solidarity. He accompanied the photo with a short, emotional caption: “My Brother’s keeper♥️♥️
Joshua who had recently arrived in Nigeria for a holiday following his knockout-victory over Jake Paul, narrowly escaped death after switching from the front passenger seat to the back just moments before the tragic incident.

His decision to move was promoted by his size obstructing the driver’s view. He sustained a leg fracture but was reported to be in stable condition.
The Ogun State Police Command on Saturday confirmed that it arraigned Mobolaji Kayode in court for alleged reckless driving that claimed the lives of Joshua’s close friends.
Kayode, 46, who drove the ill-fated Lexus, was arrested by the police shortly after he was discharged from a private hospital in Lagos on Wednesday, where he received medical attention following the accident.
He was discharged on four counts, including “Dangerous driving causing death, contrary to Section 5 (1) of the Federal Highway Act, Cap F: 133, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004 (as applicable in Ogun State)
“Reckless and negligent driving, contrary to Section 6 (1) of the same Act.
Driving without a valid National Driver’s Licence, contrary to Section 10 (1) of the Federal Highway Act.
The defendant was granted bail in the sum of N5,000,000 (Five Million Naira) with sureties., and was remanded pending when he meets his bail condition. The case was adjourned to 20th January 2026 for trial.
However, there is fear in his camp about how the boxing star will deal with trauma of losing the two close friends.
