APBN PRESIDENT ASSURES PROFESSIONAL BODIES

The Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria (APBN) will continue to provide that unique platform for Professionals in various fields in the country to interact, discuss and analyse their contemporary challenges and proffer possible solutions through cross pollination of ideas from most diverse experiences and perspectives.
The APBN President, Surv. Akinloye Olufemi Oyegbola, FNIS, FINA made the assurance at the APBN 2022 Presidential Retreat held at the Conference Hall of Watbridge Hotels & Suites, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State from Thursday 24th to Friday 25th March, 2022 with the theme: “National Development Plan: The Role of Professionals.”
In his welcome address at the occasion, Surv. Oyegbola traced the history of the Association, pointing out that “Our Annual Presidential Retreat started in the year 2011 as “APBN Annual Leadership and Management Retreat in the tenure of r. Olusegun Ajinlekoko, FNIQS. It was supposed to provide a conducive environment to the Council and Board members of the Association to work together along with other representatives of member-bodies with a view to reviewing its affairs in the past years and draws consolidate or refocus it as the case may be.”
The APBN President believed that the outcome of the retreats would make the Association more responsive, cohesive and formidable as it continues to make its required impact in the development of the nation.
Also speaking, Mr. Adesina Adedayo, Mni, FCTI, the Chairman Planning Committee commended the leadership of the APBN led by Surv. Akin Oyegbola, FNIS and member-bodies of the APBN for their resilience in sustaining this important programme of the body over the years, adding that “This is a testament to the support of all members of the Association towards achieving the success we are witnessing today.”
Meanwhile, Hon. Joshua Asoquo, the Chairman of Akwa Ibom State Chapter APBN explained in an interview that APBN is the apex organization comprising thirty Professional bodies, Whose main objective is to provide Nigeria with an effective forum for transmitting to Government the aggregate views of the nation’s professionals on matters of public interest, which are competent to express, inform and enlighten views.
Hon. Asoquo pointed out that APBN was given official Federal Government recognition as the third leg of the tripod of the Organised Private Sector (OPS) in January 1992.
However, prior to 1992, APBN had embarked upon several activities since 1983. APBN is actively involved in promoting and enhancing the status of Professional bodies by ensuring maximum utilization of the talents, skills and knowledge of the Nigerian Professionals. APBN believes that human welfare problems are multi-dimensional in nature and for this reason; it employs a multi disciplinary approach to problem solving.
