Following the All Progressive Congress, (APC) State Congress that has been slated to take place today, October 16, 2021, in Imo State, the Chairman of the Electoral Committee for the process, C.O.C Akaolisa has assured the people of ensuring that the election is hitch-free.

Akaolisa gave the assurance yesterday, after their meeting with the Central Working Committee at the APC Secretariat in Owerri, the state capital.

He pointed out that the party is quite ready for the process as they have adopted some of the proposals and budgets presented by the committee in ensuring that all the necessary machinery needed to make the congress a success is on the ground.

” Today, you will see transparency at play as we will not give room to anything that will make the Congress unsuccessful.

All we want to do is to achieve a hitch-free congress, so we assure you all that the election will be open, transparent and a new executive will emerge”

The chairman while saying that they have no doubt in keeping to their words averred that the party has seven experienced members of the Central Working Committee who are kin to working out the whole process.

“We are not saying that there would not be conflict or minor issues as those are inevitable in elections, but we have a capable committee whose work it is to ensure a level playing ground for all the contestants, and ensure a winner emerges from the majority vote cast.”

Akaolisa further noted that by virtue of the constitution of the party, that if the majority of the members of the party agrees that there is no need for an election, that the delegates will affirm the consensus by casting a yes vote.
He reiterated that whatever turns out to be the case in the Congress, that they will still ensure that there is transparency in the whole process.

The party also inaugurated the party Chairmen of all the 27 Local Government Areas in the state, which will be delegates at the Congress today.

Our correspondent who is currently at the venue of the Congress has revealed that the stages are prepared for the success of the Congress. Delegates are ready to cast their votes while we standby for more reports.
