Ahead of the 2023 general elections in Ebonyi State, an APC Women leader for Ebonyi Central Senatorial zone, Mrs. Beatrice Nkwuda has defected to the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA with over 2,000 men, women and youths in her
Ezza South Local Government Area.
They were received at an official ceremony amidst pomp and cheers at her Acharaukwu Nsokara in Amagu/Nsokara ward, Ezza South LGA.
In here remark, the immediate past APC Women leader who served as a Senior Adviser on Primary Education to a former Governor in the State, Chief Martin Elechi said her decision was not influenced by any inducements but the capacity and manifestos of those currently running for various elective offices in the State under APGA as a political Party.
According to her, “APGA is the only political party in Ebonyi State with the interest of everybody at heart. So, we have decided to come home because there is no place like home and we belong to where our people belong, which is the APGA.
I want to thank God for this wonderful day. I know my people know me too well. I know Ebonyi people know me too well including Ezza nation. Yes, I’m a political woman. I am a politician. And I believe politics is a game of interest.
Where your interest is covered, that is where you go. Where things are done right, that is where you are supposed to go if you are a righteous person”, she posited.
Nkwuda continued that she doesn’t play politics of lies or money but of principles.
“I decided to join APGA today because of the capacity I see in the people in it; the people contesting, their programmes, their manifesto and what they have for Ebonyi State is what I think I wish Ebonyi. And that is why I joined APGA.
What I want to tell us is that I have come to APGA and I have come to stay. I did not come to watch or look around but to stay. And I will join hands with the leaders there to make it better because I know that it’s Governorship candidate, Professor Benard Ifeanyi Odoh is the person that will rule Ebonyi State come 2023″, she maintained.
Welcoming the decampees which also included some aggrieved members of the PDP, the State Chairman of APGA, Chief. Ricky Okorouka noted that APGA as a political Party is committed to rendering people-oriented programmes and policies for overall the development of the State.
Also in his remark, the Chairman of APGA in Ezza South LGA, Hon. Aleke Earnest thanked them for their courage, and spirit of appreciation and promised them that henceforth, they would be part and parcel of the APGA.
