The General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries (OPM), Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere is set to receive the prestigious ‘Humanitarian Man of the Year Award’ organized by the Igbere TV Leadership Excellence Awards and endorsed by the African Union.
Apostle Chinyere emerged the recipient of the award according to the organizer after defeating the Chairman of Dangote group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, the Managing Director of Tony Elumelu Foundation, Dr Tony Elumelu and others following a 7-Day voting by Nigerians via our several social media handles and email.
The award presentations slated for 10th December at Sheraton Hotel and Towers Abuja was designed to recognize and honour outstanding impacts of leaders across several sectors and industries in Nigeria, which also applauds excellent achievement, performance, humanitarian activities and philanthropic gestures.
Some of the awardees in different categories are Dr Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Innocent Chukwuma (Innoson motors), Sen Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso , Olakunle Churchill, Dr Betta Edu, Senator Abiodun Olujimi, Dr Cosmos Maduka, Mrs Karima Babangida, Senator Uba Sani, Chief Alex Ikwechegh, Mrs Rita Daniel ,Hon John Anebeli, Hon Chinedu Obidigwe among others.
A statement issued by the organizer and made available to newsmen confirmed the readiness of the presidency to grace the important occasion.
To deserve being honoured, the man of God’s contributions to humanity over the years are enormous especially in the areas of heath, and education.
The OPM General Overseer built two free specialist hospitals with state of the art facilities to cater for the poor pregnant women, the development that has led to drastic reduction in the high maternal mortality rate in Nigeria. The OPM hospital in the past two years of establishment has been offering excellent medical services which include: registration, antenatal, post natal, drugs, scan, and even the cesarean session is free of charge.
Concerns about the high rate of out of school children in Nigeria especially children of the poor, the widows and less privileged led the clergy into building 15 schools tagged OPM free schools where pupils are given four pairs of school uniform, free books, free writing materials, and every other thing that makes their learning easy is free of charge.
In a bid to assist children of the less privileged acquire foreign University education, Apostle Chinyere has sent more than 100 Nigerian undergraduate and postgraduate students on overseas University scholarships. Some of the beneficiaries are in Turkey, Poland, Hungary, London, Canada, Germany, while many are studying on the bill of the church in various Nigerian universities.
It is also on record that Apostle Chinyere built one of the largest free skills acquisition centers in Africa which is located in Mbodo Aluu, Port Harcourt, where more than 10,000 Nigerians have been trained in oil and gas, pipeline welding, scaffolding, tailoring, etc.
The man of God also opened a free restaurant where the poor and the less privileged eat free of charge, while hundreds of widows, homeless and repentant cultists are also sheltered in OPM free Estate.
