Nigerian Military has dispersed suspected members of Biafra Nations League, BnL, in Obutong, Bakassi area of Cross River State.
According to an eyewitness account, it was gathered that the security operatives stormed the community where members of the group were said to have converged at 6 pm this evening and fired in the air to diapers them.
The security operatives were said to have been at alert after BnL separatist group reportedly seized control of the Welcome to Bakassi, an entrance leading to the Peninsula ceded to Cameroon in November.
As at the time of filing this report, no arrest was reportedly made.
9News Nigeria learnt earlier that BnL has threatened that its Paramilitary wing will seize control of more borders, waterways to disorganize international business and prevent the passage of foreign vessels the Peninsula as a way of frustrating the economy of Nigeria, insisting that they won’t back off from restoring the sovereignty of the Biafran State.
