Nigerian Army troops have repelled a terrorist attack on Doron Baga, a fishing community in Borno State that has come under several attacks in recent years.
The attack occurred on Wednesday night, with a large group of terrorists arriving in over 15 local boats via the Lake Chad Island.
The terrorists attempted to infiltrate the community, but were thwarted by a swift response from the troops, local vigilantes, and hunters.
The combined forces pushed back the terrorists, leaving two of their boats behind, containing a dead body, a source confirmed.
According to the source, the terrorists had targeted the area where fishermen operate their boats.
However, there is yet no official statement by authorities regarding the incident at the time of filling this report.
