Gov. Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers has expressed gratitude for overwhelming welcome after his six months suspension, vowing not to disappoint the supporters.
Fubara made the remark while briefing newsmen on Friday at Government House in Port Harcourt.
He commended residents of the state for continued support during his period of suspension, saying he was humbled by level of solidarity.
According to him, the massive turn out by the people of the state to welcome him and his entourage was a clear demonstration of the bond between his government and the people.
“I’m really humbled by what I saw at the airport, I want to say that it was not just a celebration or massive reception but an affirmation of an existing bond between this government and the people.
“I want to assure you that we will by the grace of God continue to do those things that made you love us,” he said.
9news Nigeria reports that Fubara on arrival at the Government House was accompanied by his wife.
Others were his Deputy, Prof. Nma Ordu; the Chief of Staff, Mr Edison Ehie amongst others.
