While welcoming the Chief of Army Staff, Major General Lagbaja Taoreed and his entourage on a courtesy call, His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodinma acknowledged the vital role played by the Nigerian Army and sister agencies in mitigating security challenges faced in the State.
Governor Uzodinma extended gratitude to the armed forces for their unwavering commitment and collaborative efforts.
Accordingly, Major General Taoreed’s exemplary leadership, demonstrated previously as the General Officer Commanding 82 Division Nigerian Army, continues to shine as Chief of Army Staff, Gov Uzodinma maintained.
“His dedication is commendable and we are pleased to have him at the forefront of our nation’s defense.
Governor Uzodinma added that the collaboration between Imo state government and the military underscores the importance of a united front in addressing security challenges.
He however assured the military of his unwavering support even as the the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day approaches.
He further emphasized that the support remains unwavering for the gallant officers and men, and as a government extend heartfelt prayers for the fallen heroes.
