From Princely Onyenwe

In recent times, All Progressives Congress APC party and their opposition People’s Democratic Party PDP have been canvassing for dominance in whose turn the 2023 senatorial seat will be best suitable and service delivery. Dr Alex Mbata and Rt. Hon Uche Onyeagocha are rivals in this contest.

The PDP Candidate for Imo East Senatorial District, Hon. Barr. Uche Onyeagocha strongly condemns Imo Lawmakers for voting against the proposed financial autonomy of legislature, judiciary and local Governments. legislative and local government financial autonomy.

In a release signed by Prince MacDonald Enwere, special sssistant on Media to Hon. Barr. Uche Onyeagocha, these lawmakers who voted against financial autonomy of legislature and judiciary acted in bad faith; Hon. Eddy Obinna,
Hon. Samuel Otuibe,
Hon. Emeka Nduka,
Hon. Arthur Egwim,
Hon. Johnson Duru,
Hon. Michael Onyemaechi, Hon. Uche Ogbuagu,

APC Alex Mbata And PDP Uche Onyeagocha

“Hon. Onyeagocha described their action as disgusting, unacceptable and highly condemnable.

“Recall that Imolites were highly bewildered and thoroughly embarrassed for such despicable display of insensitivity by these lawmakers who boldly voted against the financial autonomy of legislature, judiciary and local Governments.

“It is unfortunate and ludicrous that the legislators who supposed to be the boldest brand of our representative democracy have turned themselves into proponents of anti-people policies, even against themselves.

“They should be ashamed of themselves for allowing the Governor to continue to use them as his string-puppets against the general interest of the people. For denying the judiciary financial independence, it confirms that Governor Uzodinma wants to continue to manipulate the course of justice in the state through the legislature.

“Hon. Onyeagocha urged the people to ensure that all the lawmakers who are opposed to financial autonomy of the legislature and the judiciary are voted out in the forthcoming general elections as they do not deserve to represent the people any more.

“We won’t fail to applaud and commend the dexterity and audacity of Hon. Philip Ejiogu, Hon. Anyadike Nwosu, Hon Frank Ugboma, Hon. Solomon Anukam, Hon. Pascal Okolie for bracing all odds and standing out in defending the yearnings and aspirations of the people by endorsing and voting for financial autonomy of legislature, judiciary and local Governments.

However it is really getting more interesting in the Political Atmosphere of Owerri zone particularly in Imo East senatorial zone where Alex Mbata PAM and Uche Onyeagocha will slug it out.

Voters in this area are getting ready to cast their vote to preferred candidates having tested the hard times that bedevilled their zonal representation in the present administration both at the senate and federal house..

Onyeagocha will battle with Dr Alex Mbata in the senate election for Owerri Imo East.
