Away Goal Seals UCL Final Slot For Atletico Madrid

Atletico Madrid have qualified for the final of this season’s UEFAu Champions League despite losing 2-1 to Bayern Munich but advance 2-2 on aggregate.

Xabi Alonso put Bayern ahead in the first half but Antoine Griezman levelled up for Atletico.

Robert Lewandowski put Bayern ahead but Atletico held on to book their place into this month’s final.

From the blast of the whistle Bayern were all over Atletico but couldn’t break their solid defence.

In the 15th minute Gabi hit a long range strike from outside Bayern’s 18-yard box which was well saved by Neuer.

Arturo Vital struck a left foot shot on 17 minutes but Oblak made a comfortable save.

On 21 minutes Oblak prevented Lewandowski from scoring after he blocked his goal bound strike with his leg.

Lewandowski had a very good chance in the 24th minute after oblak spilled Ribery’s shot, but he blazed his effort over the bar.

Alonso opened the scoring in the 31st minute from a free-kick which came off Gimenez.

In the 34th minute Bayern was awarded with a penalty after Gimenez fouled Martinez but Mueller’s strike was saved by Oblak.

Bayern continued from where they stopped in the first and came close to scoring on 49th minute through Lewansdowski who headed over the bar.

Griezman drew Atletico level on 54 minutes, feeding off a pass from Torres and slotting the ball pass Neuer.

In the 60th minute Juan Fran hit a long range shot which flew across Bayern’s goal.

Oblak was called into action in the 67th minute, going down well to stop Alonzo’s left strike.

On 70 minutes, Oblak stopped Lewandowski’s volley following a lob from Vidal.

Lewandowski made it 2-1 in the 74th minute , heading in Vidal’s knock back.

Coman, in the 83rd minute, dribbled his way towards Atletico’s area but his left shot was saved by Oblak.

In the 85th minute Atletico was awarded a penalty after Martinez brought down Torres, but Neuer saved Torres’s kick.

Few minutes later, Alaba hit a straight shot which took a deflection but Oblak got down well to punch away.

Coman had a good chance to score in the 93rd minute but hit his shot wide.
