Baptist Youth Fellowship Yaba Baptist Church wraps up her annual youth week program 2023 with Dinner and Awards ceremony as Oluwaseye Adewuyi bags youth of the year

The Annual Youth Week of the Baptist Youth fellowship Yaba Baptist church commenced on 04 June 2023 with a joint worship service where the church key was handed over to the Youth Week Pastor Brother Cornelius Itepu and the youth week deacons by the Church Pastor Reverend Dr. Bayo Sola Aremu for the duration of 04 June – 11 June 2023. The Annual Youth Week program gives the youth in the church the opportunity to serve God in different capacities, thereby edifying the body of Christ. During the one-week program, regular church service would be overseen by the youth in different capacities.

On Sunday, 04 June 2023, the Youth Week Pastor, Brother Cornelius Itepu in his sermon thought extensively on the theme for the youth week (The living water), the personality behind The Living Water, which is Jesus Christ and how Christians should emulate His personality. He equally highlighted the steps to take in partaking in the Living Water and the numerous benefits that comes thereafter.

Emphasis was further made on the other programs scheduled for the week and youth participation in continuous evangelistic work while appreciation message was directed to all concerned persons for the continuous show of love to BYF over the years. The Church was also informed of the Honour Roll that the Baptist Youth Fellowship of Yaba Baptist Church retained as the Number 1 Youth Fellowship in Lagos East Baptist Conference in Youth Week Offering for 2023. Dr. Frank Aroyewun was invited for the Family discuss on Monday 05 June 2023, to enlighten us about Pornography and Family life. In his exposition, he shared his experience and advise on how pornography causes stress and increases the risk for developing negative attitudes about the nature and purpose of human sexuality. As a Lead counselor of Cloud Therapy NG, he gave the strategies, support, and guidance to individuals struggling with this addiction/challenge and how to overcome to them to find purpose for their lives as well as self-discovery and self-exploration.

On Tuesday 06 June 2023 (and Tuesday 29 May 2023) Sunday School preparatory class was led by the Youth in preparation for Sunday School that held on 04 June 2023 and 11 June 2023. The youth week Sunday school superintendent was Sister Oyeronke Oyedepo.

The Wednesday mid-week service and lunch hour programs which held on 07 June 2023 was coordinated by the Youth Pastor and youth week deacons with bible study exposition and powerful prayer sessions for the congregants, the church and Nigeria

On Thursday 08 June 2023, Pastor Abolaji Adeola who is the Lead Pastor of RCCG Living Seed Church virtually led the engagement for the involvement of Christians Youths in Politics. The charge was for the youth to be more actively involved in grassroots politics.

On Saturday 10 June 2023, The Baptist Youth Fellowship of Yaba Baptist Church joined the Gideon 2 Baptist Youth Association for the annual rally and medical outreach before proceeding to the special dinner session organized for the youths. This featured an award and recognition session for the fellowship members who have distinguished themselves with outstanding qualities. The following were names of youths given award in different categories:

Teenager of the year- Brother Benedict Bulus Malashi

Awards for Evangelism (Baptist Youth Fellowship of Yaba Baptist Church) – Brother Oluwaseye Adewuyi

Couple of the Year – Reverend & Mrs Akande

Wale Famodun award for spiritual excellence – Mr. Taiwo & Mrs. Oluwadamilola Ajayi

Youth of the year award (2nd runner up) – Sister Titilope Aremu

Youth of the year award (1st runner up) – Sister Olayinka Alaile

Youth of the year award- Brother Oluwaseye Adewuyi,

Reaganite of the year – Silva Uche-Okoro
