House were burnt and scores of residents injured in Katanga community of Wariji Local Government Area of Bauchi State on Saturday over another case of alleged blaspheming.
The prompt intervention of the Police and the State Governor Bala Muhamed mitigated further destructions of lives and properties.
While no death is yet recorded, the Police Public Relations Officer – PPRO of the Command Ahmed Wakil confirmed the incident. He said hitherto six houses, seven shops were set ablaze and scores of persons sustained various degrees of injuries.
The incident, the Police PPRO said occurred when a Christian allegedly posted a video which Muslims claimed is blaspheming Islam and Prophet Mohammed.
