Bayern Leverkusen have officially parted ways with manager Erik ten Hag following a decision taken by the club’s hererchy.
The Dutch coach, who only recently took charge of the German side, was informed of the decision in a private meeting earlier today.
Sources within the club say the move comes after internal reviews highlighted dissatisfaction with the team’s performances and overall direction.

LeverKusen are now set to begin the process of appointing a replacement, with interim coaching options being considered ahead of their upcoming fixtures.
Ten Hag replaced Xabi Alonso as the head coach in May and signed a two -year contract. But Ten Hag’s stay at Leverkusen has been brief after a poor start to the 2025-26 season.
LeverKusen won their DFB -Pokal first round tie against fourt-tier SG Sonnenhof, but since the match on August 15, the tenure of the former Manchester United manager tenure sour.
They lost their season opener against TSG Hoffenheim at home and then draw 3-3 with Werder Bremen on Saturday.

The decision was made by shareholders’ committee of the club and the recommendation of Bayer’s management, after the matches in charge.
It has been summer of upheaval at Leverkusen, with several of the stars who led them to 2024 Bundesliga title leaving the club.
Ten Hag, 55, former Dutch international, took charge as Jeremie Frimpong, Amine Adli, Odilon Kossounou, Florian Wirtz, Granit Xhaka, Jonathan Tah, and Lukas Hradecky all left the club.
Ten Hag, who managed Manchester United from 2022-2024, replaced Xabi Alonso, who led the team to the 2024 title and runner-up finish last season, Alonso joined Real Madrid this summer.
