Viewers of the Big Brother Naija show have taken to social media to request the disqualification of Erica for the vile actions she made last night to her fellow housemates, Laycon and Prince.
Prior to this, Erica had quarelled with other housemates including Dorathy, Lucy, Nengi amongst others, and she is now referred to as the most toxic housemate for this season.
Who would have thought that the beautiful Erica, the one whose smile could calm the heart of Dracula, would be the one to exhibit such toxicity for this season of Big Brother Naija? Nobody. Nobody would have. But what’s that axiom about never judging a book by its cover? Erica’s actions have only proven it true.
If you watched the Saturday party of last night, you must have been amused at how insecure she acted when Nengi and Kiddwaya were dancing together. Although the way she got into their middle and distracted Kidd from Nengi was quite ridiculous, that’s not the bone of contention here. The problem here is how she dragged and bodyshamed Laycon last night over a matter Ebuka had resurrected during the previous eviction show through a question he asked Laycon.
Last Sunday, Ebuka had asked Laycon to speak about the claims he made to the other housemates that Erica tried to kiss him a few times. Erica was taken aback and ever since then, she had been trying to have a conversation with Laycon about the issue yet the guy kept evading her.
After the party, she had tried again last night to have a conversation about the kiss issue with Laycon but he still refused to talk about it as usual. That was when all hell was let loose. Viewers saw Erica name-calling Laycon. She addressed him as an “ugly and skinny” person. And that wasn’t all. She went further to wish him death, saying he would go home during the eviction show today and he’d kill himself because he “used her to lie.”
As if that wasn’t enough, Erica also transferred aggression to her deputy Head of House, Prince because he refused to take sides with her while she confronted Laycon. She accused him of being two-faced and went further to pour water on Prince’s side of the bed just so he wouldn’t sleep on it.
This outburst of hers shook the Internet. People are surprised at how Erica could be this bitter yet wear a deceptive smile on her face all the time. Fans of the show have even begun asking Big Brother to see to it that she is either disqualified or given another strike most especially because of her death threats to Laycon.
Comparing Erica to past housemates, some Tweeps are even of the opinion that Erica is more toxic than CeeC and Tacha, although this is not a fact per se. One Twitter influencer described both Tacha and CeeC as “sweet angels” compared to Erica.
Recall that Tacha was disqualified because she acted violent to Mercy. And during a season of the then Big Brother Africa, Nando was disqualified for threatening to kill Elikem and always having a scissors close to him. In the same vein, Erica has displayed traits of extreme violence and viewers now consider her a menace to the well-being of other housemates. If she could pour water on Prince’s bed to spite him and go as far as threatening Laycon, then she could do and undo, some social media users say.
However, inasmuch as almost everyone condemns her, her fans are seeing it in an entire different light saying she’s in dire need of a therapist because she probably has mental issues. If she does have mental issues, she should leave the show and come tackle her problem, other viewers say.
While this doesn’t stand to disregard the fact that everyone has their flaws, however, for the sake of the BBN show which comes with its own rules, Erica has committed another offence deserving a third strike. We don’t know who will be going home today but we certainly do hope Erica is punished for her actions. If not for anything, for acting violent towards Prince and making death threats to Laycon.
