The bereaved family of victims of Egbema 2025 crisis has made a public declaration of details of victims ki**ed during the clash.
At the NUJ Secretariat, Port Harcourt Road Owerri Imo State Nigeria, Monday , a press briefing was held by the family to alert the public on the obviousness of the crisis as they shockingly lost some family members.
The briefing addressed issues surrounding the crisis and the family’s demand for justice.
The statement read in parts and signed by the father of the murdered twins in Egbema:
“Sixtus Chinenye Odinaka started his early age with stealing, at later age recurited boys into cultism, carried out nefarious attacks on individuals and oil companies including oil thaft in Ohaji – Egbema and Oguta Local Government Areas of Imo State.
In one of those attacks he shot a soldier based in oil location, Ukwugba Egbema. The soldiers in reprisal attack shot his brother Obinna Odinaka while Sixtus fled to South Africa.
One of the Governors in Imo State brought him back and granted him amnesty in order to use him. When the Governor left office, Sixtus went back to his usual criminal activities attacks on individuals, oil companies and oil theft.
Sixtus Chinanye Odinaka and Prince Alex Ukemezie on 5th day of February, 2024 over a daylight gruesome murdered Egbebiri Bestman a native of Baylesa based in Ukwugba, Obiakpu Egbema and went into hiding.
On 7th of February, 2025 Sixtus Odinaka surfaced again and murdered twin, Izuchukwu Maduakolam Jacob AKA Community. He warned his father, John Maduakolam to cautioned his second twin son otherwise he will use his head to drink Palm wine and use money to close the case.
The matter was reported to police and police started to look for him and he evaded arrest, then police and court declared wanted and published him on newspaper.
On the 12th of September, 2025 at about 2 am Sixtus and his gang came again and attacked Mr John Maduakolam and family brutally murdered his second twin son Ebube Maduakolam Jacob, and cut off his head as pledged. John Maduakolam’ nephew, Opara Abacha was killed and his wife Chinweudo Abacha was severely matched and was rushed to hospital.
After that criminal operation Sixtus Chinanye Odinaka went into hiding again. Police intelligence while looking for him located Sixtus in Cross River when he was about crossing into Cameroon, then arrested and brought him back to Imo State.
I appreciate Nigeria Police for doing a good job and upholding justice which actually shows that nobody no matter how rich and highly placed is above the law. Appeal to Police to go after Sixtus Odinaka’s gang who are in the bush and still terrorizing Obiakpu Egbema and her environs.
The Details was signed by JOHN MADUAKOLAM while calling on government seedy intervention to help the family secure justice for the family.
