The Action Democratic Party (ADP) has commended the South East governors for proscription of IPOB.
ADP Chairman, Engr Y.Y Sani, in a statement on Saturday, said the proscription of IPOB is most appropriate as Nnamdi Kanu refused all entreaties to cooperate with the Governors and other stakeholders for a genuine support and responsible articulation of the agitation.
He explained that while ADP is not against legitimate agitations, ”it is now clear that the philosophy of Biafra canvassed by Nnamdi Kanu has been overtaken by the euphoria of stardom and driven into exuberant obsession for a careless challenge of legitimate authorities without taking into account the implications on the larger society.”
He lamented that It is a pity the quality and style of leadership by the APC led government has encouraged restiveness throughout the country.
“While we state unequivocally that the unity of Nigeria is sacrosanct, the government must be alive to its responsibility”.
“APC government should show more commitment to leadership needed at this time by providing good governance and conducting its activities in manners that will guarantee equality, equity, peace and security of lives and property”, Sani added.
