Biafra Nations League, BnL, have blamed the Federal government over the rising insecurity in the South East and South South, Deputy Leader of BnL, Ebuta Akor Takon said that the Nigerian government wanted to see how daring the Biafran freedom fighters are by applying force on armless agitators in the region which according to him have resulted to arm clashes between security forces and different armed groups calling for Biafra Republic and the release of IPOB Leader, Nnamdi Kanu respectively.

Takon admitted that the rising tension in Cameroon border towns especially in the Bakassi Peninsula was as a result of rising activities of BnL because the federal government have refused to recognize the right to self determination and their failure to allow a referendum for peaceful exit of Biafra.

He advised those calling for negotiation in the South East extraction to desist, adding that the only negotiation Biafrans would like to make with Nigeria would be that of economic interest and boundary demarcation, insisting that nothing would be exchanged for Biafra.

BnL also warned that their members and other Militias loyal to them in Bakassi Peninsula and other Cameroon border towns won’t allow peaceful atmosphere for international trade at sea, explaining why the Biafran movement is becoming a big challenge to both Nigeria and Cameroon in the Gulf of Guinea, which is the operational headquarters of the group.

They have accused the Nigerian Army in Bakassi of threatening community leaders to stage protest against the activities of BnL in the region, there have since been protests in Bakassi, one against and one in support of the activities of the Biafran group in the area.

Residents members of BnL in Bakassi had earlier in November blocked the entrance to the Peninsula, seizing control of the boundary between Akpabuyo and Bakassi, they hoisted the Biafran flag in front of the WELCOME TO BAKASSI gate on the Nigerian side, which leads to the oil rich Peninsula that has been ceded to Cameroon.
