Famous American rapper and hip-hop legend, Lil Wayne has been ranked as the 21st greatest pop star of the 21st century by Billboard.
Billboard is spending the next few months counting down picks for the 25 greatest pop stars of the 21st century.
Lil Wayne who is regarded as one of the most influential hip hop artists of his generation, became the center of the entire pop world in the late 2000s.
While rap giants like Jay-Z, Kanye West and Eminem were dominating the scene, Wayne otherwise called Weezy was probably a few years too early on the rock star wave that came to the hip-hop mainstream, influencing the next generation of rhymers like XXXTENTACION, Lil Uzi Vert, Trippie Redd and Playboi Carti.
Although many fans have queried whether Wayne is a pop star or rapper, as at September 27, 2012, he became the first male artist to surpass Elvis Presley with the most entries on the Billboard Hot 100, with 109 songs.
