Blame yourself for failed and abandoned projects of your Govt, kinsmen tell Gov Emmanuel for sacking CoS

Onna Think Tank, one of the concerned socio-polical groups in ONNA Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State where the incumbent Governor held from has frowned over the sack of Mr. Ephraim Inyang-Eyen the Chief of Staff to Governor Udom Emmanuel whom he sacked yesterday.

The group in an emergency meeting in Lagos yesterday February 22, 2022 advised Governor Emmanuel to blame self over his administration innumerable failed and abandoned scattered all over the State instead of sacking Ephraim Inyang-Eyen his Chief of Staff who decided to put the records straight over the abandonment of Ndoneyo – Odio road transversing the Governor’s Local Lovernment Area of origin.

Speaking after the meeting, the President of the group, Engr. Ime Alphonsus said it was wrong for the Governor to ignore the issue of failed and abandoned projects scattered all over the State, while rushing to sack his Chief of Staff.

“We call on the Governor to tell us why he has not finished a single road since the advent of his administration. We ask him to tell us what he did with the money he received to buy CCTV. He should tell us where the Mexican cows are and where the mini industries are. He should tell us how he managed the N171 billion refunds he received from Federal Government. Let him tell us the true ownership structure of Ibom Air and whether some have been withdrawn or not.

Sacking Ephraim Inyang will not solve the myriads of problems bedevilling Akwa Ibom people” the Think Tank President said.

The body which the President said will reconvene next weekend calls on Akwa Ibom people to rise and ask their Governor to respond to issues rather than using Government funds to organise unnecessary endorsements and adoptions that are undemocratic.

Some of Governor’s Udom Emmanuel failed and abandoned projects are:

  • Rice mil in Ini LGA
  • LED factory in Itu LGA
  • Construction of an International Market complex abandoned in Itam, Itu LGA
  • Failed Coconut plantation in Mkpat Enin LGA
  • International Worship Centre in Ibesikpo Asutan LGA
  • Automobile Assembly Plant in Itu LGA
  • Remodeling of Eket city center initiated since 2015
  • Dualization of Nsit Atai – Okobo Road
  • Dualization of Ikot Oku Ikono – Etinan- Eket Road
  • Expansion of Oron Road to Airport
  • Aka Junction – Afaha offot Road Initiated since 2015.
  • Ikot Ekwere Itam Road from Calabar-Itu Highway
    *Tabernacle Road in Uyo city center.
  • Ikot Akpanabia – Ikot Ikot – Afaha Offiong Road
    *And very many others in the three Senatorial Districts
