The Borno State Government has pledged backing for the takeoff of the Federal University of Agriculture and Entrepreneurship in Bama, following the appointment of its principal officers by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Governor Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum gave the assurance on Thursday in Abuja during a meeting with Minister of Education Dr. Tunji Alausa.
He said the state is ready to provide resources and cooperation needed for the institution to begin activities.
The appointments, announced days earlier, name Prof. Tijjani Kalli as Vice Chancellor, with Abba Kaka as Registrar, Bashir Subaru as Bursar, and Aishatu Halilu as Librarian.
Zulum described the constitution of the management team as a signal of the federal government’s intent to strengthen education in the Northeast.
He added that the university is expected to drive growth in agriculture, entrepreneurship, and development in Borno.
The governor was joined on the visit by House of Representatives member Engr. Bukar Talba, Borno State Social Investment Chairman Hon. Yuguda Vungas Saleh, and Alhaji Mamman Tubo.
