One hundred and fifty eight (158) academic staffs of the University of Jos gets Promoted to Professorial rank.
This was made known to the general public through a press statement signed by the Deputy Registrar, Information and Publications, Abdullahi Abdullahi.
The statement pinned that, one hundred and fifty eight (158) academic staff of the University have been promoted to the Professorial rank in different academic disciplines. These includes, Seventy (70) Readers to the rank of Professor and eighty eight (88) Senior lecturers to the rank of Reader.
This was the outcome of the University’s recent promotion exercise as recommended by its Appointment and Promotion Committee (Senior Staff) chaired by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Tanko Ishaya and approved by the University’s Governing Council. The Committee’s recommendations were made following its consideration of the positive external assessment reports it received on the affected staff for the appraisal years under review.The Promotion is with effect from 1st October 2020.
Similarly, the University’s Appointment Committee (Senior Staff) has approved the appointment of sixty (60) Academic Staff from the rank of Senior lecturer to Reader (Associate Professor) with effect from 1st October 2020.
Twenty eight (28) others were also promoted with effect from 1st October 2021.
